The History of MA Rapport

Over 100 years of Rapport Excellence

M. A. Rapport

In 1898 an energetic and charismatic young man stepped from the train at Cardiff Central station in Wales.

Cardiff, although not yet a city, was a thriving coal port - the venue for the first £1,000,000 commercial exchange in the world. At 20, Maurice A Rapport had the entrepreneurial spirit and vision to see that there would be a good market for clocks of real quality.

Even he, though, could not have foreseen that 'Rapport' would become a household name in clock making throughout the world and that the clocks produced by the company would find themselves gracing homes in all four corners of the globe.

Four generations later, the Rapport business remains a private limited company and still follows the policy, laid down by the founder, of innovation, quality and service.

Rapport clocks, and, in recent years, Rapport watch winders have always been stylish with quality in mind. With new and exciting designs and interesting technological developments the latest collections range from the practical to the classical, from the extrovert to the understated.
